  1. After years of hearing characters chatting away in her head, CJANE ELLIOTT finally decided to put them on paper and hasn t looked back since A psychotherapist by training, CJane enjoys writing sexy, passionate stories that also explore the human psyche CJane has traveled all over North America for work and her characters are travelers, too, traveling down into their own depths to find what they need to get to the happy ending.CJane is an ardent supporter of LGBTQ equality and is particularly fond of coming out stories In her spare time, CJane can be found dancing, listening to music, or watching old movies Her husband and son support her writing habit by staying out of the way when they see her hunched over, staring intensely at her laptop.CJane is the author of the award winning Serpentine Series, New Adult contemporary novels set at the University of Virginia Serpentine Walls was a 2014 Rainbow Awards finalist, Aidan s Journey was a 2015 EPIC Awards finalist, and Sex, Love, and Videogames won first place in the New Adult category in the 2016 Swirl Awards and first place in Contemporary Fiction in the 2017 EPIC eBook Awards.

  2. This novella calls for the BAD all telling, no showing The characters are wooden and exist in a sort of vacuum no sense of place or community The plot strains credulity how the hell is a graduate student going to support himself in Washington DC without a job WORSE emotional infidelity There are three MCs and a ridiculous love triangle of sorts Graham, Brent s boss, has a boyfriend he gazes at with adoration later we find out he s been lusting after Brent all along Well, hell, no wonder his boyf [...]

  3. Once again, K.C Kelly brings life to the characters I love his drawl, tempo, cadence, and character voices Honestly, the best thing about this story for me was the narration. As for the story itself, if I needed to use one word to describe my feelings at the end of this it would be disappointed.Told from the POV of Both Brent and Cody, the bottom line is I didn t like Brent In fact, I actively disliked him and his callous, careless treatment of Cody The story is all tell, no show, with whole chun [...]

  4. Brent Granger is a bi curious writer very attracted to his gorgeous, gay, and already attached boss, Graham Stoneford Brent starts dating bisexual musician Cody Bellstrom who gladly helps him explore his sexuality, but still harbors a strong interest in Graham This story did not work for me mostly because Brent is basically a bad boyfriend, who really treats Cody badly and didn t seem to realize his asshat ish ways There is little character development throughout and too much tell vs show By the [...]

  5. This review can also be found at The Novel ApproachBrent is a young writer for a Washington DC Arts magazine He likes his job a lot, but he really aspires to write his own stories and maybe some poetry He s 24 and he s been on plenty of dates, but he really isn t connecting with anyone and in fact his dates seem to be getting worse instead of better and he can t figure out why On the weekend, he runs into his boss at the magazine, Graham, who is a 30 year old out gay man that Brent just feels to [...]

  6. Brent Granger has always been straight but something has been missing in his life None of the women fulfil him and he is noticing his boss graham way too much His boss keeps finding ways to talk to Brent and soon they are having lunch together and spending every Sunday together One day when Brent s friend is showing him new Match adds one catches his attention They have a lot in common especially Brent s favourite poem with a line about life being Wild and Precious So what s the problem The ad i [...]

  7. Brent is in denial of his sexuality He has a man crush on Graham his openly gay boss but doesn t have the guts to admit it He eventually decides to finally experiment with his sexuality after an intriguing ad he finds online catches his eye from a guy Cody.He and Cody don t exactly click perfectly yet they become boyfriends giving Brent a way to experiment while continuing to long for Graham.Meanwhile Graham who has a boyfriend secretly pines for BrentH Though I was thankful that Cody and Brent [...]

  8. A Joyfully Jay review 4 starsThe tough job of a novella is being able to develop both the story and characters in fewer pages than a novel In under 100 pages, Elliott succeeds in doing that fairly well There are three main characters to consider here, along with secondary characters that all advance the story Brent is the main focus here and his character is most developed The story line flows well and pages are turned quickly to see how Brent is going to figure out his next moves in life His fr [...]

  9. Poor Brent The women his friends set him up with, the he feels he ll never meet the right one A few conversations hanging out with his gay boss Graham and Brent begins to see what the answer to his problem might be He s attracted to Graham, who is in a relationship and his boss, so Brent decides to explore bisexual, maybe even gay as his true nature He changes his profile on match and meets Cody, who changes his life.As time goes on, though, Brent isn t in love with Cody He s in love with Grah [...]

  10. Brent has no luck with women, there is just never a real connection He is working at an arts magazine and he begins to notice his gay boss Graham Graham is in a relationship When he sees and answers a personal ad of a bisexual guy named Cody he immediatly knows why he never connected with women he is gay Now he has to figure out who he wants Cody or Graham.I loved this story, i enjoyed reading it and i would recommend it to anyone who wants to read a romantic story about finding out who you are. 11. Last story read in 2014 Loved watching as Brent discovered who he was and what he wanted out of life A feel good story, full of hope but not overly sweet or sentimental the perfect end of the year read

  14. Aww, I really liked this story It s an easy read with characters who you immediately connect with It was nice that there wasn t the resident baddie it made it all that difficult to decide who Brent should end up with The story begins with Brent wondering why he keeps losing in the arena of love His dates with women never progress past the first one, and when he develops a growing attraction to his handsome, older gay boss the lightbulb goes off He decides to throw caution to the wind and answer [...]

  15. In general I m not a fan of love triangles because you know that someone is likely to end up heartbroken and alone Although this story isn t quite a love triangle it has characters that are attracted to other people while in committed relationships I d read a couple of other reviews on this story before starting so I knew going in who Brent was going to end up with and, I must admit, that I m glad I knew But that s just me I m one of those people who often peeks at the end because I really hate [...]

  16. A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words reviewFor the full review, visit wp p220KL 6EU on 1 6 2016From that review Wild and Precious by CJane Elliott is one of those books where I wanted to either issue no rating at all or multiple ratings for various elements because at 80 pages this author has done so many things right that the parts where that irritate or pull the story down just don t count as much for me as they might with others.First, I m going to start with my largest possible author peril [...]

  17. 2.5 starsOkay story during which the two characters who end up together are with other people no cheating though Brent has only dated women but after a string of failed dates and a fascination with his openly gay boss Graham he starts dating Cody, a bit man who has three girlfriends at once but fancies a change of scene Brent and Cody date and Brent comes out to friends and family but it s not love Meanwhile Graham and his long term partner split up, and when Cody leaves Brent and Graham finally [...]

  18. Original review on Molly LollyFour stars I wasn t sure about the different relationships at first However, I m happy with how it turned out in the end I was nervous for Brent when he came out on how everyone would react I really enjoyed the side characters They were colorful and fun, and brought a great dimension to the story I want the story of the guy Brent didn t have a happy ending with He deserves a story too I need it

  19. FourandHalfStarsThis quick, one sitting read was sweet and fun I enjoyed watching Brent unfold and become comfortable with himself and who he was, and I loved the way the relationship with Graham unfolded slowly. My only regret is that I wish the author hadn t put any of the story in Cody s point of view Cody ended up feeling to me like a throwaway It seemed like he was falling for Brent, and I didn t really feel like there was closure with him Maybe the author will tell his story some other time [...]

  20. OMG i LOVED this book i was a little bit anxious for a bit when i thought there might be a love triangle here but it was absolutely perfect for me graham and brent are absolutely perfect for each other and so sweet together they are both literary lovers, artistic in their own way and beautiful the writing was really good i can t wait to read by ms elliott and the secondary characters were perfect

  21. I felt pretty sorry for Brent with everyone trying to set him up on dates I was delighted when he met Cody, but there didn t seem to be much of a spark between them and I was sad for Cody as he clearly felt at first Then it all became clear Brent s real love was waiting in the wings I really enjoyed this, sweet and fast paced novella I wanted to see Cody get his happy ending though, so I can t wait to read the sequel and see if he gets it.
